How the workbook is read

  • SuppressionBase: monthly Top_Step base pay per department and rank.
  • SuppressionBase / SREMSBase: Step 1–15 values too, for step comparison.
  • Education, EMS, Misc: each incentive's calculated monthly Step and Top Step amounts. EMS notes saying "Only higher of EMT/Paramedic" are applied automatically.
  • Hire-date notes like "Only if hired prior to 2/1/14" or "eliminated if hired after 2017" limit an incentive when a hire date is set. Longevity Classic and PEPRA rows are split at the date in their note, or 1/1/2013 when there's no note.
  • Retirement (PERS, OPEB and Social Security tables) and EEHealthcare / EEDental / EEVision: employee contributions for the take-home view.
  • Education cap table (second table, headed "Department Name … Education_Cap … Max_Amt"): caps total education pay.
  • Longevity: the Max column, as a % of base or a dollar amount.
  • Holiday: a % of base, or monthly hours paid at the hourly rate (same as the Comps sheets).
  • Schedule: hours per week, shift pattern and annual hours. EMT/Paramedic incentives under $10 (except uniform allowance) are read as $/hour and multiplied by each department's hours per week.
  • Comparison, healthcare, leave and retirement sheets aren't used. SREMS (EMT/Paramedic) schedules aren't included yet.
